Summer is my favorite season– the sun shines, you can go to the beach, you can pretty much live in bikinis, shorts, and dresses (or at least I do)! And I feel lucky enough to have grown up in Southern California, where the beach is basically a 20 minute drive. Honestly, I am just a girl on the coast.
I love to mix up my style from time to time, but some of the few items I cannot stray away from are dresses, high-low tops, heels, boyfriend and high-waisted jeans, off-the-shoulder tops, and crop tops.
I thought that I would share with some of you, a few of my favorite summer (even though it is almost Fall) fashion staples. Let’s get started shall we?
I LOVE dresses– all kinds. Short, tight, flowy, maxis– you name it, I probably own it. I think maxi dresses are super goregous– unfortuantely, for me being so short I can’t really wear sandals with them. I could get them hemmed but then they look too short, so I choose to wear heels.
This is one of my all-time favorite dresses I own– Tropical Print Choker Dress, and I got it at Forever21 and what I love about this piece is that you could easily dress it up or down. I usually wear my nude heels with it, and always bring a nuetral color purse. What I love about this dress is that it has the whole “choker” trend attached to the dress, plus it has that “off-the-shoulder” look that I am obsolutely obsessed with!
Next on the list is crop tops and boyfriend jeans. I cannot tell you how comfy this style is! I’m all for looking fab, but if you can do so and still be comfortable then go for it! What I love about crop tops is that you can easily wear them with high waisted jeans, shorts, or skirts. And you can wear them in a way that isn’t showing off too much skin. Sometimes I’ll wear them with my bikini, which can look cute. As for boyfriend jeans, this was one trend I was excited to jump on board with. They are super comfy, and you can actually dress them up or down. I usually wear them with sandals or my converse but if I feel like dressing them up a bit, I will wear little booties.
Here is one of my favorite outfits, as I get to wear my red smocked crop top and my distressed boyfriend jeans. Where I placed them with super comfy sandals and my black choker that has a gold K on the front. This entire outfit is from Forever 21, and the sandals are from Target.
I mentioned above how I really love the high-low style, which brings me to this outfit. I found this gem online at Forever21.com, and I instantly fell in love! This delicate piece is so beautiful, and the way it just flows– it’s like magic. What I love about this piece is that it is very airy– it is a semi-sheer woven top with a v-neckline and is buttoned at the waist, short sleeves and the front is open and it flows all the way to the back with a flowy silhouette. It is a light blush color with floral print, and it is absolutely darling.
I paired this top with my light pink crop top, black leather shorts, and my Faux Suede Studded Cutout Heels. What I adore about this completely combination is how comfortable it is and how easy you can move in it– which is always a plus in my book!
Lastly, my all-time favorite style would be off-the-shoulder tops and high-waisted skinny jeans. Most of my clothes come from Forever21, so it’s only appropriate that this outfit is too! I adore this white off-the-shoulder quarter sleeve body suite and I paired it with my black high-waisted skinny jeans, and my white converse. Of course, I needed to return back to my signature red lips and so I opted for a darker shade of red to really make the whole outfit pop! Not to mention my favorite sunnies– my Jessie James Decker Diff Eye shades, which come in Blue.
I also paired this outfit with a off-white shoulder purse, which I got from Forever21 a couple years back.
So, there you have it, Charmers. Some of my favorite go-to fashion staples. And the best part about these styles is that you can mix and match. I try to stick to nuetral colors and at least have one part of the outfit really pop! For example, in my first outfit with the floral dress– I needed to have nude heels because the dress was a statement within itself. However, with my second outfit, the red top was what really popped, while my jeans and sandals were neutral. And for my third outfit, while it was all-around in a different ball park, the floral high-low top is what truly stands out! And lastly, my fourth outfit– the red lips and diff-eyewear is what truly popped for that outfit.
I hope you all enjoyed my little post, and perhaps even found some inspiration. I love finding great deals and still maining a great style at an affordable price. Truth is, you don’t have to spend a lot to look good.
